OK Mobility Mallorca – Better Than Expected
The warning bells started ringing when I first read the Trustpilot reviews for OK Mobility. So many complaints and such a low rating could make anyone think twice before renting from them. But is it really possible for a company to mistreat customers that badly? I asked two colleagues who had previously rented from OK Mobility, and their experiences were fairly positive — so I decided to try it myself.
A quick search on Rentalcars.com and Discovercars.com showed similar prices, with rates starting around €25–€26 per day for a Fiat 500 in October. OK Mobility was about 15 % more expensive than the cheapest competitors, which I found to be an acceptable difference — and the price on the company’s own website was similar — so I booked a car for seven days at €204
The name OK Mobility comes from the initials of its founder and CEO, Othman Ktiris, who started Logic Auto in 2004. Over the years it grew into what is now OK Mobility, with offices in many Spanish cities, Europe, and even Miami. The Mallorca location opened around 2010–2011.
At Palma de Mallorca Airport, OK Mobility and several other rental companies are located on the far left of the arrivals hall after customs. This is actually a smart setup by the airport operator AENA — plenty of space, easy access to cafés and shops, and the chance to breathe some fresh air while waiting for your shuttle.
Upgrading — a Nice Headache
When I arrived at the desk, all counters were staffed and my wait time was under 10 minutes — a good result for a Saturday morning, normally a busy time.
One thing many travelers find annoying is the push for extra insurance — especially if you already have coverage the company doesn’t accept. The constant reminders about potential costs if something goes wrong create uncertainty and can lead to unexpected charges.
I personally declined the extra insurance and was slightly surprised when the agent didn’t push it hard. But then came the upgrade dilemma: the small Fiat 500 I booked wasn’t available. Instead, they offered a DS 7 Crossback!
I’ve been in the travel industry for years, and while upgrades like airport lounge access or nicer hotel rooms are always welcome, car rental is different. A small car has definite advantages — easier parking in Palma and narrow villages and better fuel economy. Still, I appreciated the gesture, and the DS 7 turned out to be a great drive: comfortable and enjoyable on Mallorca’s roads.
Unlike some competitors (like RecordGo), you don’t have to walk to another office to pick up your keys. With OK Mobility, you get the keys straight away when the contract is signed, and the car park is conveniently located across from the terminal on the second floor.
Once your contract is signed, you immediately receive all relevant documents — including a copy of any existing damage noted on the car. This is important, especially if you plan to document the condition with photos or video.
Website & Booking Experience
The OK Mobility website feels a bit cluttered, with many images and strong colors that slightly reduce the overall impression. Still, it’s easy to navigate and quick to make a reservation.
One downside is how the terms and conditions are displayed. Like many “low-cost” companies, OK Mobility packs key contract info into text formatted in a way that makes it easy for customers to skim past. It’s not the first thing you want to read when booking a car — but it should be easy to access and understand.
However, a feature I do like is the OK Club loyalty program launched in 2020. You earn points for each euro spent, and these can be used to pay for future rentals or exchanged for gifts, attraction tickets, or online shopping discounts.
The Fleet
OK Mobility has a varied and growing fleet, from scooters and small cars to luxury vehicles, electric models, and vans — truly something for everyone.
Prices vary depending on the cover you choose — Premium, Smart, Standard, or Lite. Premium includes full insurance, free cancellation, and often fast-track service at pickup. With Standard or Lite, prices are lower, but you should expect to pay a minimum deposit of around €900 and a bail of €100.
As you probably know, low base prices don’t guarantee peace of mind — you must return the car in the same condition as when you picked it up, with no scratches or dents. This makes documenting all visible flaws extremely important, which is sometimes more difficult than it sounds, especially in a dark parking garage or rainy conditions.
In my case, good lighting made it easy to film and photograph the car’s existing small flaws. Interestingly, cars are returned in a part of the lot with better lighting but picked up in a slightly darker area — just something to be aware of.
Returning the Car
Returning the car was painless. I was prepared with all documentation — tank receipt, proof of no new damage — and the process took only a few minutes.
After returning the car, I waited to see if any charges would appear on my credit card. After 60 days, nothing has shown up yet. I would have liked a simple email confirmation saying something like, “Thanks for renting from us — everything is fine, deposit released.” But instead, all I got was a request for feedback.
The only real challenge was finding the right exit and signage for OK Mobility’s return area at the airport. My tip: take it slow at the final roundabout and follow the OK Mobility sign rather than the generic “Car Rental” sign — it makes a difference.
Summary
My overall experience was better than expected, given the negative reviews I read before booking. Still, it’s easy to understand why other customers have been dissatisfied — especially when it comes to extra costs and the need to prove there’s no damage to the car.
In my opinion, this issue isn’t unique to OK Mobility — it’s a challenge across the rental industry, not just one company. The key takeaway? Document everything carefully and be prepared to show what condition the car was in when you picked it up.
OK Mobility Mallorca – Rating
Overall score: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3.5 / 5)
| Price & value | ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ |
| Booking process | ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ |
| Car condition | ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ |
| Pickup experience | ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ |
| Transparency & terms | ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ |
| Customer reviews (overall) | ⭐⭐☆☆☆ |
OK Mobility in Mallorca offers competitive prices and a modern fleet, and the rental process can be smooth if everything goes as planned. However, mixed customer reviews, deposits, and insurance upselling mean it’s not the most stress-free option for everyone. Best suited for travellers who read the terms carefully and document the car thoroughly.
Compared to other Mallorca rental companies:
OK Mobility sits above budget low-cost providers in terms of fleet quality and location, but below premium brands when it comes to transparency and peace of mind.

First of all, AVOID AVOID AVOID this company. It is really a SCAM and a Fraud, that is the only a truly reason why they have a 1.5, 1.1 and 1 in respectable ratings sites such as Trustpilot, Yelp and TripAdvisor (which I have never seen such lows ratings before, but they were ALL ACCURATE). The SCAM is as follows: They publish low prices in partners
Such as booking.com or Norwegian airlines (among other sites) and when you check in at their desks they try to make you upgrade the car for a lot more than what you paid (in my case a luxury BMW X1 was EUR 360 for nine days= eur 40 a day) and I can upgrade to a BMW X3 for EUR 75 a day extra! Which makes absolutely no sense, an upgrade could be 20% or 30% more but not almost double the price a day. When you clearly reject the increase in price for an upgrade they tell you they don’t have the model you rented that they only have xxx in your category (which is a very scratched and bumped car) but of course you still don’t know since you haven’t seen it. They offer a insurance, again at an absurd price, in my case EUR 550 for the nine days (yes, the insurance was 150% more than the car rental
Itself) if I don’t do it I have to block EUR 2,000 from my credit card (no AMEX accepted). She was very insistent in not renting again in partners, in renting in their home site or rental cars since those have insurance included and the blocking was not needed. Weird! But I thought some people may have low credit in their credit cards and eur 2,000 was limiting their expenses during vacations. Then, they tell you that the car has multiple scratches and they make you sign a proof of notice of the scratches in an ipad BEFORE SEEING THE CAR! But they promise they will send an email so
That you can carefully check everything later. They never sent any email at all, not before and not after (just like in your experience). When I got to the car I took a lot of pictures of the damage. I did returned it on time but there was nobody to receive it since it was before 6am. There was no new damage to the car and one day later I received a charge for usd 1,000 on my US VISA credit card. I’m pretty sure this SCAM is made to UK, USA and foreign visitors and probably not locals. They never sent anything and I did the dispute with my credit card so they sent an “invented” invoice to my credit card. Now I’m in the middle of this battle and would love to talk with the regulatory authorities in Spain and the tourists protection since this was a very clear FRAUD. Please contact me if you want more details.

Thank you for your comment, Matias!
Well, unfortunately, I have had to experience their working methods myself. Last car rental ended in a total disappointment. See my review here: https://mallorcadrive.com/car-rental-scam/
